But maximise doesn’t work

One of the common argument against OSX is that maximise doesn’t work. To put this argument finally to rest, here are some screenshots to show that it does work.

Firefox:

The exception to the rule. Safari maintains the old paradigm:

“But look, it’s not maximised, there is all that space where to the dock is!” – Yes, but that’s like arguing maximies on Windows doesn’t go past the taskbar. Set it to auto hide, or press Apple – Ctrl – D to manually hide it, and maximise takes up the full available space:
