Livingstone’s £8 zone heads west, but traffic jams are as bad as ever

I was reading this article on the extension of the congestion charging zone which happens next week. It would seem the scheme isn’t really working. The last paragraph actually made me LOL…

Steve Norris, who has consistently argued that congestion charging is a waste of money and was beaten twice by Mr Livingstone in mayoral elections, said: “In politics, I do know that saying ‘I told you so’ is deeply unfashionable. But what the hell. I told you so.”

On the plus side I now live in the zone. Which means it’s actually cheaper (before fuel bills) for me to drive to work then it is to take public transport. Go figure!

  • It is in fashion to talk about congestion charge so why should I lag behind then..check this out:

I just love the fact that after a congestion charge was brought in to stop you using your car, it actually makes more economic sense for you to now use your car!

Why don’t these idiots ever learn, taxation doesn’t solve problems!
